Our concrete pool decks have to look the part, they have to be durable and they also have to be functional. This last part is one that sometimes gets sacrificed in order to get the area to look a certain way. If you are going to add an exposed aggregate concrete finish it may not be the most functional of finishes. We are typically going to be looking for a smoother finish. These are all things though that we can go over before we do anything. Here are some of the instances that we come across when we are actually creating these surfaces.
 
Prep The Original Surface Accordingly 
Usually, if you are looking to build a pool deck you currently have a plot of dirt in its place. Some people may have a very nice looking lawn. It’s going to be turned into a plot of dirt before setting up the concrete anyway. We need to make sure that we are able to flatten and smoothen out the surface. That way we’ll be able to pour concrete on it without too much trouble. We believe that the prep work that goes into these types of projects is basically the most important part of the whole project.
 
Concrete Decks vs Wooden Decks Or Other Types of Decks 
In most of the comparisons that we do on the site between concrete surfaces and others, the comparison is not even close. To be honest, in things like driveways people chose asphalt because they don’t or can’t pay for concrete upfront. There is nothing wrong with that, that’s a personal decision, but concrete is much better. In this case, concrete decks are going to be more durable and easier to maintain than wooden decks. We could understand though if you said, that you liked how the wooden deck looks better. Again a personal decision, you’d probably be missing out on many of the benefits that you can only get with concrete, but that’s ok.
 
Do I Need To Use Special Types Of Concrete For These Structures?  
It’s not necessarily that we are going to be using “special” concrete in or near pools. Naturally, we get this question because people are concerned with the overwhelming presence of moisture in the area. What we can say is that the presence of water is something that we have to account for. There is no doubt about that. If we do this correctly though there is not much that you need to worry about.
 
How Long Are You Going To Take To Build A Pool Deck For Me?
That’s really going to depend on how much prep work we are going to have to do. If we have to essentially remove existing structures that could really derail our products. The most though, that we’ve taken on a project was a couple of months. That was mainly because the size of the project in that particular case was pretty significant. Most of the time we are going to be able to complete the job within a few weeks!
